Families gravitate towards Derek Taylor Public School, known for its innovative programs and welcoming classrooms. Crystal Heights Park also provides an opportunity for families to enjoy the expansive playground and open spaces for sports or picnics. The local Co-op is a close drive for all of your daily necessities, as well - Crystal Heights is a standout choice in Grand Prairie.

Crystal Lake Estates

If you've ever dreamt of waking up to a lake view every morning, Crystal Lake Estates is for you. Having access to this lake provides you with the ideal backdrop for morning jogs, morning walks, or just sitting by the water. It's worth mentioning that not every home here has direct views of the lake, but it's certainly within walking distance of most homes in this area. If you have children, Maude Clifford Public School is the catchment school in the area. The homes here are truly worth taking a look at.


Here in Mission, the Mission Heights Shopping Centre is the go-to for all your necessities, including most of your local take-out options. Dave Barr Community Centre also provides a great place for your recreational needs, including ice skating and summer camps for the kids. The catchment high school in this area is St. Joseph's Catholic High School, which is well respected in the area. There are also multiple parks in the area within walking distance for you and your children to enjoy.

O'Brien Lake

Living on O'Brien Lake feels like you're on vacation every day. The lake itself is a popular spot for canoeing and fishing, offering residents an easy escape to unwind on evenings and weekends. Around the neighborhood, O'Brien Lake West Park is a favorite for dog walkers and joggers, with its scenic trails. You're also close to the Eastlink Centre, which provides residents with access to aquatic facilities and fitness classes. As well, Aspen Grove School is celebrated for its community-oriented approach to education.

Royal Oaks

Royal Oaks is a welcoming neighborhood typically comprised of single-family homes with garages, with one condo complex in the South West corner. These homes are situated close to the Grand Prairie Regional Hospital, which is good to know if that's important to you. The main shopping and dining area is within Gateway Power Centre, which is a close drive away. There are also multiple walking trails and parks within the area to provide you and your family a means of exercise and getting outdoors.


Interestingly enough, Wedgewood is actually located in the County of Grande Prairie, not necessarily within Grand Prairie itself. This welcoming community borders the Grande Prairie Golf & Country Club to the North, green space and Bear Creek to the South. This subdivision is typically regarded as being more mature, with the homes being built between 1970 - 2014, with a few of the adult-only complexes in the region. Currently, there are over 300 residents living in Wedgewood.

Whispering Ridge

Whispering Ridge is a fantastic community to live in - likely one of the more sought-after communities in Grand Prairie. This community is located just East of the Bear Creek Golf Course, which is ideal if you're a golf enthusiast or have one in your family. The nearby Whispering Ridge Community School is at the heart of the community, known for its forward-thinking curriculum and community involvement. Local families and fitness enthusiasts enjoy the comprehensive facilities at the Crosslink County Sportsplex - just a short 15-20 minute drive away in Clairmont. Veteran's Land Administration (V.L.A.)

The V.L.A. (or Veterans Land Administration) is steeped in history and community pride.
